Who can have an account

• You need to be 13 or over to create an account. That is the age at which you can agree on your own to a site storing your email address and keeping a record of what you do on it.
• If you are under 13, a parent or guardian can hold the account and play alongside you. We do not ask anyone for a date of birth, so this is something we rely on being respected rather than something we check.
• Anyone can read the site without an account. Predicting is the part that needs one.

Names other people see

• Your username appears in the league tables you are in, and on the Hall of Fame, which anyone can read without signing in. League names appear in the Leagues Competition, which every signed-in player can see.
• Because of that, we do not accept obscene or abusive usernames. This is checked when you pick one, so you will be asked for a different name there and then rather than hearing about it later.
• Where a name was chosen before that check existed, we may hide it on the pages anyone can see — the Hall of Fame, the global league and the club leagues. Your own leagues are not affected: the people you invited, or who invited you, still see your name as normal. We will not change your name for you. Renaming yourself on your account page puts it back everywhere, and that page will tell you if this applies to you.
• League names are handled differently, because a league name is worn by everyone in the league rather than by the person who typed it. We do not change it. What we do is keep an obscene one off the Leagues Competition, which is the page that shows it to people outside the league. The league itself carries on working normally, and whoever created it can rename it at any time to put it back on that page.
• If we have got that wrong about your league, tell us and we will put it back.
